Recorded on september 4, 2020 on an ipad. Some parts or maybe even all of it may sound like just noise to some people. It was recorded in a government fenced in square. So there are buildings on 3 sides of my location and a gated entrance at the front. It is mainly drums that are played for a dragon dance. These dances are performed at special occasions, such as a new business opening. There is a troop of about 8 people there to perform the dance. For the first half of the recording, the two dragons (four people) were preparing and they were actually performing the dance for the second half of this recording.

Large river rapids running strongly after winter rain. Recorded approximately fifty feet above water level. The river flows and turns through a narrow, high, partly exposed bedrock canyon which likely amplifies the sound of the rapids. The first nine seconds are unedited. The last two seconds have a fade out applied. In summer you can walk where the centre channel is in winter, so this is a lot of water moving swiftly down the cowichan river to the salish sea. Gem pathescope 9. 5mm projector, unit #1191, made in england. Recorded on a marantz pmd661 with a rode nt4 stereo mike. The gem is a variable speed projector, controlled by a rheostat. Speed for this recording was unknown, but probably 12-16 fps. Microphone was facing the operational side of the projector, 50 cm away. Audio begins with power being turned on, ends with power being turned off.

I started and stopped and awkward times since we were in between takes, but if you have sound skills, its easily loopable. While on set in downtown la, an ice cream truck visited our crew. This is a very lowfi recording of a xerox workcentre 7345 actually performing a copy of a single page. Includes a button beep at the start, fan noise, servo motor sounds, paper sorter moving sounds and lots of other mechanics being moved around. You really get an idea how complicated these modern machines are. . :). The bitrate is only 13 kbit/s and the resulting audio quality not very good, but the file size is really small. Maybe audio level needs normalizing, though.
